CENTERBURG — Michele Ball of Centerburg died Tuesday afternoon, June 19, 2007, surrounded by her family at the home of her daughter in Centerburg. Arrangements will be announced by the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home in Sunbury.

Marian B. Bryant
BUTLER — Marian B. Bryant, 67, of Steven Drive, Butler, died Monday evening, June 18, 2007, in her home following a brief illness.

She was born to John and Elizabeth (Schroeder) Bellan on May 2, 1940, in Cleveland and was graduated from Olmsted Falls High School. She retired as the director of nursing at Mount Vernon Developmental Center in 2005.

She is survived by her husband, Harry Bryant, whom she married Oct. 20, 1962; a son, Charles (Amanda) Bryant; two daughters, Anne (Leonard) Simons and Katherine (Brij Agarwal) Bryant; two sisters, Ruth McClelland and Catherine Arthur; two brothers, Dave Bellan and Dick Bellan; three grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Steven J. Bryant.

The family will receive friends Friday, June 22, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, where the funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Keith McLaughlin will officiate.

DELAWARE — Doris Condit, 80, of Delaware died Tuesday morning, June 19, 2007, at Sarah Moore Home in Delaware. Arrangements will be announced by the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury.

M.D. ‘Nick’ Crowe
NEWARK — M.D. “Nick” Crowe, 78, of Newark went to be with the Lord on June 18, 2007. A graveside service will be held Friday, June 22, at 1 p.m. at South Lawn Cemetery with Bruce Hissong officiating.

He was born June 5, 1929, in Croton to Hoyt Crowe and Georgie (Perrin) Crowe Ganatt. He was in the Army from 1947-53 serving in the Korean War.

He is survived by his loving son, Randy L. (Patsy) Crowe of St. Louisville; his loving daughter, Tami (Randy) Stapleton of Newark; four grandchildren, Dana Lee (Brandi) Crowe, Amy (Anthony) Collura, Davin Stapleton and Cassandra (Christopher) Moore; four great-grandchildren; two stepchildren, Debbie (Dauge) Riggleman and Ben Dauge and their children and grandchildren. Nick was loved so much by his extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty (Dauge) Crowe, in 2000; by his loving companion of many years, Carleen Kirkpatrick, in 2006; and his mother and father.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Road SE, Newark, OH 43055 in memory of M.D. Crowe. Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., P.O. Box 456, Utica, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Earlene Cunningham
UTICA — A funeral service for Earlene Cunningham, 71, of Utica will be Friday, June 22, at 10 a.m. at Bell Church of Christ, with Gary Kent and Larry Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Bell Cemetery. Earlene died June 18, 2007, at her residence.

She was born Jan. 18, 1936, in Condit to William and Inez (Faye) Edwards. Earlene was a member of Bell Church of Christ, Utica.

She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, William A. Cunningham of Utica, Richard and Lisa Cunningham of St. Louisville; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Terry Teegardin of Newark; grandchildren, Lindsey Teegardin of Newark, Marlana Ochs of Galipolis, Alexis and Sydni Cunningham of St. Louisville; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Hazel Coe of Centerburg, sister and brother-in-law, Deana and Paul Butler of Mount Liberty, sister-in-law, Judy Reid of Alexandria; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Cunningham, who died July 1, 2006; and three granddaughters, Nicole, Heather and Nikki.

Edward Kinnaman Jr.
CENTERBURG — Edward Kinnaman Jr., 61, of Centerburg died Tuesday evening, June 19, 2007, at Whispering Hills Care Center in Mount Vernon. Arrangements will be announced by the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury.

Ethel C. Miller
BUTLER — Ethel C. Miller, 58, formerly of Butler, died Monday, June 18, 2007, in her home on Barnard Road, Wooster, following a brief illness.

She was born to Tom and Georgia (Ward) Hinkle on Oct. 11, 1948, in Craigsville, W.Va. On Sept. 11, 1964, she married Charles E. Miller, who preceded her in death on June 11, 1996.

Ethel is survived by her two daughters, Sylvia Shamp and Carol Underwood; special children, Randall, Virginia (Sissy) and Joshua Miller; two grandchildren; three brothers and a sister, Columbus Hinkle, Earl Hinkle, Junior Hinkle and Emily Beehum; five nieces and nephews; and good friends, Ray and Evelyn Strickling, and Priscilla and Brittnay Freeman.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, where the funeral service will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Bunkerhill Cemetery.

MOUNT GILEAD — Kelly Dale Shipley, 40, of Mount Gilead died unexpectedly on Sunday, June 17, 2007.

Eileen G. Shrontz
COLUMBUS — Eileen Geneva Shrontz, 87, passed away surrounded by her loving family on June 18, 2007, at Monterey Care Center.

Daughter of the late Fred and Mary Vincent, she was born Aug. 13, 1919, at the original family farm in Gambier. Eileen was active in Disciples of Christ Church, employed at the Mount Vernon State Hospital and volunteered for the board of elections. While in Columbus, she attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and sang with the Marion Center choir.

She was preceded in death by Don Shrontz; and a brother, Harold Vincent.

She is survived by daughter, Geneva “Jennie” Rice, and her family, Michael of Guayaquil, Ecuador; Susan Shaffer (Neal and Reese) of Memphis, Tenn.; and Betsy Boyers (Matt and Mackenzie, Kaia and Jillian). She is also survived by a son, Rick (Patty) and their family, Jason (Allison and Samantha) and Lori Thacker (Andy and Brooklyn); and daughter, Becky Appleyard, and family, Rob (Cassie), Erin and Kristine. Mount Vernon surviving relatives are brother, Darwin Vincent; and nephew, Eric Ritterhoff Jr., and his son, Michael (Tina) of Austin, Texas.

Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the O.R. Woodyard Co. Chapel, 1346 S. High St., where funeral service will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. Dr. William L. Snider will officiate. Interment will follow at the Union Grove Cemetery, Gambier.

William E. Stine
FREDERICKTOWN — William E. Stine, 73, of Waterford Road, Fredericktown, passed away Monday, June 18, 2007, at Country Club Retirement Campus in Mount Vernon.

He was born Nov. 2, 1933, in Zanesville to Roy and Mary Elizabeth (Devold) Stine. William managed the meat department for Big Bear of Mount Vernon. He was an avid fisherman, but most important to him was spending quality time with his loving family.

He is survived by a son, Michael (Marge) Stine of Fredericktown; two daughters, Kimberly Nelson of Mount Vernon and Kathy (Marty) Chitwood of Westerville; four grandchildren, Ruben Nelson, Brooke Nelson, Joshua Chitwood and Jon Michael Chitwood; two sisters, Mary Lou (Robert) Hardy of Zanesville and Sandra (Jerry) Carlisle of Newark.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Molly L. Stine, in 2005.

Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown, where a funeral service will be Friday at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown.
