Patricia A. Armstrong
BELLVILLE — Patricia Ann Armstrong, 86, formerly
of Mansfield, died Aug. 5, 2007, in Woodlawn Health Care & Rehabilitation.
She was born Aug. 5, 1921, in Bellville to Blake and Alta (Gaddis) Garber, graduated from Bellville High School, and remained a lifelong area resident. Patricia graduated from Mansfield Business College and was employed by Mansfield Board of Education for 15 years. She was a member of Mayflower Congregational Church.
She is survived by nieces and nephews and their spouses, Shirley (William) Thurston of Ashley, Janet (William) Mottayaw of Mansfield, James (Patricia) Russell of Bellville, Charles (Shirley) Russell of Mansfield, Howard (Marguerite) Russell of Delaware, Suzanne Adams of Wooster, Patrick Pearl of Loudonville, Deborah (David) Bryant of Bellville and Geoffrey Pearl of Mansfield.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Armstrong; and her sisters, Winifred Russell and Maxine Pearl.

Leslie L. Berls
SUNBURY — Leslie L. “Toodie” Berls, 56, of
Sunbury died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007, at St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville
following a one-year illness.
She was born Oct. 8, 1950, in Columbus to the late Leslie and Doris (Stuart) Smith. A graduate of Fairfield Union High School in 1968, she moved to Sunbury in 1986 from Westerville.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Kevin; children, Tim of Marengo, Amy and Kimberly, both of Columbus, and Jeff of Sunbury; brother, Dick (Becky) Smith of Sunbury; and yellow Lab, Toby.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. with prayer service at 8 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 3 at Ohio 61, Sunbury. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 9 a.m. at St. John Neumann Church, 9633 East Ohio 37, Sunbury, with the Rev. David Sizemore as celebrant. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.

Wilber ‘Bill’ Byrd
MOUNT VERNON — Wilber “Bill” Byrd,
60, of Parrott Street, Mount Vernon, passed away Sunday, Aug. 5, 2007, at the
Dayton VA Medical Center.
He was born June 30, 1947, in Glasgow, Ky., to Billie and Minnie (Williams) Byrd. Bill was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Bill is survived by his wife, Belinda (Haslehurst) Byrd of Mount Vernon; his mother, Minnie Byrd of Mount Vernon; three sons, David (Karen) Byrd of North Carolina, Jason Byrd of North Carolina and Remington Byrd of Mount Vernon; two daughters, Brandi Byrd of Mount Vernon and Jessica Byrd of Mount Vernon; a grandson, Quintin Byrd of Mount Vernon; a brother, James Byrd of Mount Vernon; and a sister, Linda Pearce of Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Roger Byrd.
There will be no calling hours. The family will observe a private graveside service in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens at a later date. The arrangements are under the care and direction of the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home.
