Mary M. Boucher
MOUNT VERNON — Mary M. Boucher, 75, of Fearn Avenue, Mount Vernon, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2007, at Mount Carmel/St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville.

She was born July 10, 1932, in Jenkinjones, W.Va., to the late George and Anna (Dudash) Angelo. Mary was valedictorian of the 1950 graduating class of Chattaroy High School. She retired in 1994 after 15 years of employment in special education for Mount Vernon Middle School and the Mount Vernon Career Center. Mary was a member and Eucharist Minister for St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. She was a past member of Women of the Moose.

She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Armand Boucher; two sons, Armand (Nancy) Boucher Jr. of Howard and Troy (Leslie) Boucher of Mount Vernon; four daughters, Linda (Claude) Robertson of Mount Vernon, Emily (Jerry) Peck of Mount Vernon, Stephanie (Thomas) White of Heath and Veronica Fletcher of Columbus; nine grandchildren, Erick, Darcy, Jay, Joshua, Roger, Geoff, Marissa, Matthew and Taylor; nine great-grandchildren, Clinton, Brett, Jeremy, Kayla, Matthew, Justin, Ashley, Kiley and Brayden; and a brother, William (Barbara) Angelo of Charleston, W.Va.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amy O’Byrne Bricker.

Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Mark J. Hammond as celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Mount Vernon.

Paul David Groves
BUCYRUS — P. David “Cheech” Groves, 51, of Bucyrus died late Wednesday night, Aug. 29, 2007, at his residence. He had been in failing health the past six years.

He was born Aug. 30, 1955, in Bucyrus to the late Jay C. Groves, and Margaret (Clinard) Groves who survives.

Also surviving are sons, Shane Tomlin of Panama City, Fla., and Chris (Wendy) Groves and Jeremy Groves, both of Bucyrus; seven grandchildren; brother, Roger (Anne) Groves of Bucyrus; sisters, Sandy (Bill) Barber and Susan (Bob) Zeigler, both of Bucyrus; and Sarah Miller of Mount Vernon; and lifelong friend, Duane Dillow.

Preceding him in death, along with his father, are sisters, Joyce Neuman and June Groves.

He had worked at Galion Dresser, Baja Boats, Conrail, did construction work and tended bar. David attended Bucyrus schools, and enjoyed doing artwork.

At his request, his body was cremated, and there will be no services. Family and friends will gather at his sister Susan’s house at 1027 Elm St. on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. Memorials may be made through Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home to hospice.

Bohdan Wasyl Gudz
MOUNT VERNON — Bohdan Wasyl Gudz, 57, of Mount Vernon passed away Wednesday evening, Aug. 29, 2007, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. The North-Dilley Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is handling the arrangements.

Robert ‘Stan’ Lockhart
MOUNT VERNON — Robert “Stan” Lockhart, 51, of Hamtramck Street, Mount Vernon, passed away Thursday, Aug. 30, 2007, at his home.

He was born Jan. 12, 1956, in Mount Vernon to Robert E. and Grace (Waldon) Lockhart. Stan was a member of the New Life Nazarene Church on Newark Road. He was a very active member of the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers (I.A.M.) and was employed as a welder at Rolls-Royce here in Mount Vernon.

He is survived by his three sons, Phillip S. Lockhart, Robert W. Lockhart and Jonathan D. Lockhart, all of Mount Vernon; his mother, Grace Hubbell of Mount Vernon; a brother, Raymond A. (Beverly) Lockhart of Pensacola, Fla.; and a sister, Robin K. (Steve) Stevison of Mount Vernon.

Stan was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Lockhart.

Friends may call on Saturday, Sept. 8, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the New Life Nazarene Church on Newark Road, Mount Vernon, where a service will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Troy McNichols officiating. The arrangements are under the care and direction of the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon.

Roy L. Rockwell
MOUNT VERNON — Roy L. Rockwell, 93, of Mount Vernon died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2007, at the Northview Senior Living Center in Johnstown.

He was born Oct. 24, 1913, in Mount Vernon to the late Robert and Emma (Shehee) Rockwell. Roy was employed at Timken Roller Bearing during World War II. He later opened Rockwell Appliance on Columbus Road in 1939 and moved to Harcourt Road in 1962, changing the name of the company to Rockwell Furniture. Mr. Rockwell retired from the furniture business in 1972 and moved to Punta Gorda, Fla., where he became a successful real estate agent. He retired from real estate in 2002, at the age of 88, and moved back to Mount Vernon to be closer to his family. In 2007 he moved to Johnstown, nearer his daughter. He was a past member of the Moose and Elks Lodge of Mount Vernon.

He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Esther (Kinney) Rockwell; a daughter, Marilyn (Charles) Parker of Johnstown; five grandchildren, Randall Rockwell, Renee Rockwell, Mark Gatchell, Kirk Gatchell and Troy Gatchell; two stepgrandchildren, Amy Williams and Charlie Parker; two great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Russell Rockwell; a brother, Robert Rockwell; and two sisters, Helen McElroy and Hazel Parker.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 5, at 2 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, where friends may call two hours prior. The Rev. Kim Alten will officiate. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.

Delbert Shepard Jr.
MOUNT VERNON — Delbert F. Shepard Jr., 38, of Mount Vernon, died Monday, Aug. 27, 2007, at Knox Community Hospital.

He was employed by Absolute Health in Reynoldsburg.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Floyd and Lloyd.

He is survived by his son, Nathan Shepard; mother, Delilah Shepard of Howard; father, Delbert F. Shepard Sr. of Mount Vernon; girlfriend, Debbie Comston; brother, James Shepard of Fredericktown; and stepchildren, Megan and Jhona Garee, both of Mount Vernon.

Friends may call today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Johnson-Melick-Moreland Funeral Home, 49 W. Church St., Centerburg, where funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
