Bernice L. Brown

MOUNT VERNON — Bernice Lenore Brown, 91, of Yauger Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, at the Whispering Hills Nursing Home.

She was born Sept. 11, 1916, in Meigs County to the late Joseph and Myrtle Bell (Romine) Bolin. Bernice was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and was a lifelong seamstress.

She is survived by her son, Joseph (Barbara) Brown of Mount Vernon; her daughter, Judith (Carl) Coogle of Fredericktown; three grandchildren, Kelly (Andrew) Evans, Andrew (Angela) Coogle and Jason (Carlana) Coogle; and eight great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, James Albert Brown, in 1986; and 10 brothers and sisters.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home where friends may call two hours prior. The Rev. Jack Christner will be officiating. Burial will follow in Mound View Cemetery.
