Marietta F. Shultz
DANVILLE — Marietta F. Shultz, 77, of 19575 Chapel Road, Danville, passed away Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008, at her residence, surrounded by her family, following a short illness.
She was born Nov. 9, 1930, in Mount Vernon to John and Edna (Sapp) Rice. She married William “Bill” Shultz, who preceded her in death. She was a 1948 graduate of Danville High School, where she was a varsity cheerleader. She remained an active fan and supporter of all levels of sports at Danville Schools. She was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, a charter member of Jefferson Hills Garden Club, a 50-year member of the Jefferson Grange, a member of the Wild Ones Bowling League, Danville 200 Club, and was a volunteer with Senior Citizens Meals.
She is survived by her children, Roxanna (Ken) Reiheld, John (Sherry) Shultz, Cheryl (Greg) Sheldon, and daughter-in-law, Lou Ann Shultz, all of Danville; grandchildren, Kim (Andy) Hostetler, Kerrie (Dennis) Weaver, Karla Reiheld, Jim (Stacy) Shultz, Jeff (Sonia) Shultz, Kim (Joe) Wilson, Tammy (Mike) Crane, Charlie (Shelly) Marmet, Mindy Marmet and Ethan Shultz; great-grandchildren, Nick Hostetler, Heather (Keith) Metro, Erica Johnson, Brandon Wilson, Devon Wilson, Kyle Shultz, Jordan Wilson, Dylan Wilson, Breanna Crane, Kendall Weaver, Kylee Weaver and Tess Shultz; brothers, Walter (Jean) Rice and John (Kay) Rice; sister, Shirley (Jim) Teeters; several nieces and nephews; a special friend, Ron Samples; friends of the family, Janice (Chuck) Bryant; beloved cat, Buffy; and dogs, Shadow and Chester.
In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Chuck Shultz; an infant brother, Robert Clark Rice; and a great-grandson, Brody Weaver.
Per her request, there will be no calling hours or funeral. The family will celebrate a memorial service at a later date.
