Edith A. Cotterman

DOVER — Edith A. Cotterman, 93, a life resident of Dover died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, at 10:45 p.m. in Park Village Health Care Center at Dover.

Born March 12, 1914, in New Philadelphia, she was a daughter of Lewis D. and Leota (Diefenbaugh) Barcus. She was employed at the former JCPenney store and the Montgomery Ward store, both at Dover, and owned and operated the former Cotterman’s Restaurant at Dover. She retired from the Tuburculosis Society at Dover. Edith was a member of the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church at Dover and was formerly a member of the Business and Professional Women and the Clionian Club, both at Dover.

Her husband, Arden “Buss” Cotterman, preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 1967.

Surviving are two daughters, Donna (David) Studer of Howard and Kay (Darrell) Myers of Wooster; seven grandchildren, Rick Mitchell of Uhrichsville, Lori Frazier of Laura, Beth Rondinilla of Dover, John Mitchell of Grafton, Kevin Myers of Chico, Calif., Kim Warden of Wooster and Rob Gonser of Uniontown; stepgrandson, Jason Studer of Mansfield; and 14 great-grandchildren, James, Heather, Mitchell, Adam, Logan, Ellie, Josh, Jenna, Becky, Joe, Hallie, Gabe, Landon and Zandon.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 23, at 11 a.m. in the Smith Funeral Home at Sugarcreek. The Revs. Jim Lewis and Marlin Drake will officiate and burial will follow in Dover Burial Park at Dover. Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
