Agnes Abell

MOUNT VERNON — Agnes Abell, 86, of North McArthur Street, Mount Vernon, passed away Monday, Jan. 21, 2008, at the Country Club Nursing Center in Mount Vernon.

She was born April 14, 1921, in Olean, N.Y., to the late Thomas and Agnes (Toohey) Fitzpatrick. Agnes was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

She is survived by her four sons, Mark (Hilary) Abell of Jackson, Woodley (Lea) Abell III of North Augusta, S.C., Michael (Laura) Abell of Mount Vernon and Thomas Abell of Mount Vernon; 11 grandchildren, Brian Abell, Christopher (Jeanell) Abell, Cara Abell, Levi (Samantha) Abell, Sarah (Jeremy) Clements, Drew Abell, Jason Abell, Dylan Scott, Ethan Abell, Lorianne Abell and Ashlyn Abell; and five great-grandchildren, Morgan Abell, Katie Abell, Keegan Abell, Lorelei Abell and Lucy Jewel Clements; and a sister, Betty Broadbent of California.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodley Abell II; two brothers, Bernard Fitzpatrick and James Fitzpatrick; and two sisters, Katherine Dorson and Mary Hirst.

Friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon, OH 43050, where rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Monsignor Carl P. Clagett will be celebrant. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
