Raymond L. Watters
REDERICKTOWN — Raymond LeRoy Watters, 57, of Fredericktown passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, at Knox Community Hospital.
He was born May 8, 1950, in Mount Vernon and was the son of the late Allen L. and Helen (Myers) Watters. Raymond was a past Fredericktown firefighter for 22 years and he worked for Dana Corp. in Fredericktown for the last 36 years. He was a Fredericktown softball coach for four years and a member of the Fredericktown Baseball League for six years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marsha (Smith) Watters of 30 years; son, John (Laura) Watters of Fredericktown; daughter, Jodi (Jody) Boggs of Centerburg; brother, Charles (LaVonne) Watters of Duluth, Minn.; half sister, Mary Lou (Jim) Imel of Mount Vernon; two grandsons, Mason Watters and Ethan Boggs; and many close family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Gordon Watters, on Jan. 9, 2008.
Family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Dilley Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jamie Gump officiating. Burial will follow in Workman Cemetery in Danville.
