Denis L. Randall

FREDERICKTOWN — Denis L. Randall, 66, of Fredericktown passed away Thursday morning, Jan. 31, 2008, at MedCentral Hospital in Mansfield.

He was born Dec. 28, 1941, in Mount Vernon and was the son of the late Kenneth and Gwendolyn (Laymon) Randall. Denis retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 2002 after 21 years as a mail carrier in Fredericktown. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War and a longtime farmer in Knox County.

He is survived by his loving wife, Betty (Hess) Randall of 33 years; daughters, Judy Grubaugh and Mary (John) Hatfield; sisters, Nancy (James) Lester and Susan (Dennis) Lotz, all of Fredericktown; brothers, Rodney (Beverly) Randall of Fredericktown and Joe (Kay) Randall of Mount Vernon; four grandchildren, Bill Grubaugh, Wendy Cunningham, John Paul Hatfield and Melissa Chandler; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Karl Booze; brother, Daniel Randall; and grandparents, Edward (Sarah) Randall and Roy (Silvia Frye) Laymon.

Friends may call Sunday from 1 to 4:30 p.m. at the Dilley Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jamie Gump officiating. Burial with military honors will be conducted by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council in Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown.
