GAMBIER -- Clarke G. Carney, 66, of Gambier passed away Sunday afternoon, Feb. 10, 2008, in the Hospice Unit of Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark.

NEWARK -- A funeral service for Mary Lou Frost, 79, of Newark will be Tuesday, Feb. 12, at 1 p.m. at the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr &Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Bruce Hissong officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery.
MOUNT VERNON -- Adelia Gilman, 85, of Yauger Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, at Country Club Nursing Home in Mount Vernon.
NEWARK -- A funeral service for Mary "Jane"Gorley, 77, of Newark will be held Tuesday, Feb. 12, at 10:30 a.m. at the Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta Funeral &Cremation Service with Pastor Bruce Hissong officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.

MARENGO -- James Andrew "Jim"Lyon, 37, of Marengo died Saturday morning, Feb. 9, 2008, at OSU Medical Center in Columbus from injuries sustained in an automobile accident Thursday, Feb. 7.
MOUNT VERNON -- Clara Ferris Miller, 93, resident of the Country Club Retirement Center in Mount Vernon passed from this life into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday morning, Feb. 10, 2008, at the center.

COLUMBUS -- Joyce C. Spielberger, 75, of Vernon Road, Columbus, passed away Wednesday evening, Feb. 6, 2008, at her residence following a courageous battle with cancer.

Report of babies born at hospitals other than Knox Community Hospital must be submitted in writing. Include parents’ names, address, age, baby’s sex, and date and place of birth. If either parent is under the age of 18, the signature of a parent or guardian is necessary for each of the baby’s underage parents.
Announcements should include the signature, address and telephone number of the source. Announcements may be dropped off at 18 E. Vine St., or mailed to Mount Vernon News, P.O. Box 791, Mount Vernon 43050-0791.
