Maureen Dager-Frysinger

UTICA — Maureen Dager-Frysinger, 70, of Utica died unexpectedly Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Josephine Dager. Survived by her two brothers, Joe and Tatla Dager, and Mike Dager and Harvey Shapiro and her children, Kevin and Renée Speelman of Granville, Charlie and Sharon Frysinger of Corning, N.Y., Jon and Laurice Hootman of Cincinnati, Ed and Sarah Frysinger of Cleveland, eight grandchildren, aunt, Hanna Dager of Bucyrus, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was born in Bucyrus on Aug. 1, 1937, and raised in Utica. She graduated from Utica High School and attended The Ohio State University.

She was a member of the Church of the Nativity and actively involved in the Utica Historical Society. She was an active third generation Velvet Ice Cream family member, and was instrumental in the sales and marketing department. Maureen was a proud sister, mother, and grandmother and her life was her family. There was no one she came in contact with that remained a stranger for long. Maureen was an energetic, vibrant, social person with a passion for living life to the fullest.

Funeral liturgy will be held Wednesday, Feb. 20, at 3 p.m. at the Church of the Nativity, 126 N. Main St., Utica, with the Rev. Stephen A. Metzger as celebrant and a vigil will be celebrated by the Rev. Paul Faroh on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 8 p.m. at the Law-Baker Funeral Home. Friends may call Tuesday, Feb. 19, from 5 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, Feb. 20, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica. Burial will be in South Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Utica Historical Society, 45 N. Main St., P.O. Box 5, Utica, OH 43080, in memory of Maureen Dager-Frysinger.
