William A. Cochran

MOUNT VERNON — A funeral service for William Arthur Cochran, 83, of Mount Vernon will be held Monday, Feb. 25, at 11 a.m. at Utica United Methodist Church, 626 North St., with the Rev. Ric Harvel officiating. Burial will follow in Homer Cemetery.

Art died Feb. 19, 2008, at Knox Community Hospital, Mount Vernon. He was born Feb. 29, 1924, in Knox County to the late James H. and Sylvia J. (Wright) Cochran. Art was a member of Utica United Methodist Church and was on their Murry Mission Farm Board. He was a lifelong farmer and a Ohio Farm Bureau board member. Art held several offices with Morgan Grange and was formerly employed by Foote Foundry in Fredericktown.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. (Fogle) Cochran of Mount Vernon; daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and Don Brown of Colorado Springs, Colo., Linda and Tom Edwards of Delaware, Vicki and Phil Rhonemus of West Union, and Debra and Ron Martin of Mesa, Ariz.; grandchildren, Donald Brown, William and Leslie Brown, Kristen and Jon Wish, Stephen and Sandy Edwards, Cara and David Vogler, Joshua Rhonemus, Janice and Edd Smith, and Shannon Mack; eight great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Bruce Butcher of Utica.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Chester Cochran and Robert Wayne Cochran; sister, Edna Yoakum; and granddaughter, Judy Ann Brown.

Friends may call Sunday, Feb. 24, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica, and Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
