Helen D. Conner
WARSAW — Helen Deloris Conner, 86, of 30781 County Road 20, Warsaw, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
She was born Jan. 23, 1922, in Warsaw to Everett and Tena (Heffelfinger) Lonsinger. She married Emory C. Conner on Feb. 15, 1970, who preceded her in death on Oct. 22, 1983. She was a graduate of Tiverton High School, head cashier at the Kroger Co., a member of Dutch Run United Church of Christ, Tiverton Grange 1515, United Food Workers Retirees Club of Columbus, Women of the Moose 935 in Coshocton, and VFW Auxiliary 1330 in Coshocton. During her life, she traveled over all 50 states, and also Canada, Mexico, The Holy Land, most of Europe, the Virgin Islands, Jamaica, Panama, Spain and North Africa.
She is survived by a son, James (Nancy) Humphrey of Malvern; a daughter, Joan Kay Shafer of Charleston, W.Va.; five grandsons, Larry (Donna) Pritchard of Warsaw, Bradley (Debbie) Pritchard of Newark, James D. (Kathy) Humphrey of Olympia, Rex Humphrey of California and Brian Humphrey of Lexington; four granddaughters, Penny Cottrill of Newark, Brenda (Dana) Reed of Sissonville, W.Va., Darcia (Mark) Painter of Cross Lanes, W.Va., and Loretta (Dale) Gandee of Charleston, W.Va.; two stepdaughters, Sandra (Rick) Jones of Warsaw and Kathy (John) Wright of Coshocton; two stepgranddaughters, Trena Wright of Columbus and Dusti Bartoe of Coshocton; a stepgrandson, Sterling Bartoe of Coshocton; 29 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill (Lois) Lonsinger of Warsaw; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bob Lonsinger; an infant son; and one niece.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 23, at 1 p.m. at the Dutch Run United Church of Christ with the Rev. Wayne Harman officiating. Burial will be in Tiverton Cemetery. Calling hours are today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, and also one hour prior to service time at the church on Saturday.
