Clark McNeal Ross
REYNOLDSBURG — Clark McNeal Ross, 83, of Reynoldsburg died at 6:15 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at the New Albany Gardens and Care Center.
He was born Nov. 3, 1924, in New Concord, a son of the late Dwight and Thelma L. Graham Ross. Clark retired in 1981 after 35 years of service as a manager for the Ohio Bell Telephone Co. He was a member of the Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church, Jackson Lodge 85 F&AM and was a World War II Navy veteran. He served as District Deputy Grand Master, 19th Masonic District from 1990-1991. He was a member of Zanesville Chapter 9 Royal Arch Masons serving as High Priest from 1971-1972, Zanesville Council 12 Royal and Select Masons serving as Master of Council from 1972-1973, Cyrene Commandery 10 Knights Templar serving as Eminent Commander from 1969-1970, Kilwinning Council 62 Knight Masons of Ireland, Aladdin Temple A.A.O.N.M. Shrine, Ohio Priory 18 Knights of York Cross of Honor, Valley of Cambridge Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, was a life member of Memorial Post 8198 VFW, Heart of Ohio Council 258 Allied Masonic Degrees and Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Isabel Derry Ross, whom he married Nov. 7, 1942, of the home; four daughters, Karen (Gary) Graham of Zanesville, Cynthia (Lawrence) Kramer of Winter Springs, Fla., Diane (Mark) Wilson of Lancaster and Lynn Hinderer of New Albany; a son, David (Karen) Ross of Lewis Center; a sister, Isabel Sharrock of Newark; 12 grandchildren, Allison Karling, Ryan Spicer, Leah, Reid and Rodney Miller, Matthew and Adam Wilson, Justin, Lindsay and Jonathan Hinderer and McKenna and Garrett Ross; and eight great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Kathryn Ross; a brother, Robert D. Ross; and two sons-in-law, Rodney Spicer and Gary Ash.
Friends may call Sunday, Feb. 24, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday, Feb. 25, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 26, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Maxine Smith-Pierce and Rev. Ralph Bauserman officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery, near Sonora, Ohio. VFW George Selsam Post 1058 will hold full military rites at the graveside. Jackson Lodge 85 F&AM will hold Masonic services Monday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
