Jack Dennis
MOUNT VERNON — Jack Dennis, 69, of McGibney Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2008, from a long-term battle with diabetes.
He was born Dec. 3, 1938, in Mount Vernon to the late William and Pauline (Lyons) Dennis. Jack served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the AMVETS Post 95 and Moose Lodge, both of Mount Vernon.
He is survived by his children, Dan (Lisa) Dennis of Mount Vernon, Larry (Julie) Dennis of Longmont, Colorado, Diana “De” Carper of Mount Vernon and Jay Brownfield of Mount Vernon; eight grandchildren, Scott Dennis, Lindsay Dennis, Greg Dennis, Jason Dennis, Christina Dennis, Brandon Hess, Brittany Hess and Baleigh Carper; a brother, John Michael Dennis of Mount Vernon; and a sister, Cherie (Ralph) Gallagher of Mount Vernon.
Besides his parents, also deceased are a sister, Kay “Tootie” Feeney; and a brother, Gary Dennis.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Marvin Haught officiating. Burial will follow in Green Valley Cemetery.
