David C. Kline Sr.

COPLEY — David C. Kline Sr., 84, ended his long journey March 6, 2008, at the Hospice on Ridgewood Road after an extended illness.

He was born April 17, 1923, in Akron to L. Frank and Mary E. (Hallinan) Kline. A graduate of St. Vincent Class of 1943, David was a Navy veteran who served in the Pacific Theater aboard the DE Oliver Mitchell. He worked 24 years at Chrysler’s Twinsburg Stamping Plant, and retired in 1979. After retirement, he was a school bus driver for Walsh Jesuit High School. Together, David and his wife enjoyed square dancing, traveling the country by trailer and building their three homes. He was a member of Guardian Angels Church of Copley, American Legion of Danville, and the “Tin Can” Sailors Association DESA.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Thelma (Hudspath); sons, David Jr. (Sandy) of Avon, Ind., and Thomas (Bobbi) of Stow; daughters, Kathleen (Roger) Miller of Canal Fulton and Michelle (David) Semegen of Louisville, Ky.; grandchildren, Danielle Kline of Indianapolis, Ind., Jason Kline of West Lafayette, Ind., Wayne Kline of Stow, Stephanie and Nicholas Semegen of Louisville, Ky.; great-grandson, Keagan Kline of Indianapolis; brothers, Joseph (Catherine) Kline of Copley and John (Anne) Kline of Bath.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Thomas; sister, Mary G.; and his little angel granddaughter, Teaya Marie Kline.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Ciriello & Carr, 39 S. Miller Road, Fairlawn. Mass of Christian burial will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the St. Vincent Catholic Church followed by interment in Northlawn Cemetery where the Firestone VFW Post 3383 will conduct a military service.

The family would like to thank the third- and eighth-floor nurses at AGMC and the staff of Hospice of Ridgewood Road.
