James P. Glassburn

WESTERVILLE — James P. Glassburn, 75, of Westerville died Friday, March 7, 2008, at his Kissimmee, Fla., home.

He was born on April 8, 1932, in Langsville, Ohio, to the late Thomas N. and Mary E. (Swick) Glassburn. Both a U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean conflict, he participated in combat operations in both South and central Korea. He worked 43 years for Columbus Coated Fabrics as a screen press operator.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 53 years, Nancy (Spaulding); daughters, Debra (Steve) Morgenstern of Sunbury, Sharon (Randall) Howell of Kissimmee, Fla., and Margie Cales of Mantua; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, James Glassburn; one grandson; and sister, Margaret Cardillo Mathney.

Friends may call Wednesday from noon until 2 p.m., when services will follow at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 3 at Ohio 61, Sunbury, with his nephew, the Rev. Randy Spaulding, officiating. Burial will follow at Fancher Cemetery, with military honors provided by the Delaware County Veterans Association.
