David R. Sproul

MOUNT VERNON — David R. Sproul, 56, of Mount Vernon passed away Saturday morning, March 8, 2008, at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon after a brief courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on April 26, 1951, in Sidney, Ohio, a son of the late Russell and Esther (Baker) Sproul. Dave was a 1969 graduate of Westerville High School. He had worked with the water department for the city of Westerville and more recently he worked for the city of Mount Vernon with the water department. Dave was an avid fisherman.

Dave is survived by his sister, Ann (Bill) Iwata of Arvada, Colo.; his brother, Dr. Jack (Beth) Sproul of Tully, N.Y.; his sister, Amy (Peter) Miller of Hamilton, Va.; six nephews; three nieces; one great-nephew; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Following Dave’s wish, the family will have a memorial service at a later date. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon is honored to serve Mr. Sproul’s family.
