Reva Bartlett Zeitler
MANSFIELD — Reva (Porter) Bartlett Zeitler, 90, died March 10, 2008. A longtime Mansfield resident, she passed away peacefully Monday morning in Columbus.
She was born Aug. 31, 1917, in Knox County to Harry and Oda Porter. Reva and her husband, Mike, were married in 1938 and resided in Mount Vernon until 1963. They then moved to Richland County and Reva lived there until 2000 when she moved to Columbus to be with family. She will be remembered for her homestyle cooking, including “drop-off the bone” chicken and cherry pie, love for playing cards, sense of humor, upbeat nature and friendliness to everyone she met. She was a true “people person,” able to make friends while standing in line at the grocery store or on a cruise. Reva retired from the Lexington School system where she was a secretary in the superintendent’s office for 14 years. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church in Mansfield.
Reva was preceded in death by her parents; twin brothers, Donald and Dawson Porter; sister, Pauline Porter McVay; first husband, Mike Bartlett, who died in 1982; and second husband, Bob Zeitler, who died in 1999.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy Bartlett Graves; son-in-law, Art Graves; granddaughter, Amy (Chris) Colgan; grandson, Bret (Allison) Graves; great-grandsons, Brian and Kevin Colgan; and great-granddaughter, Hannah Graves.
Graveside service conducted by the Rev. Cloyd Kress will be Friday, March 14, at 1 p.m. in Forest Cemetery at Fredericktown.
