Rose Rugola

MOUNT VERNON — Rose Rugola, 88, of West Vine Street, Mount Vernon, passed away Thursday morning, March 13, 2008, at the Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.

Rose was born Dec. 12, 1919, in Akron, a daughter of Matthew and Mary (Ozanich) Pribonic. Rose was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Mount Vernon, where she was active in the choir and the Women’s Guild.

Rose is survived by her children, Joseph Paul (Veda) Rugola of Columbus, Patricia (Michael) Blubaugh of Racine, Wis., and Mary Rugola Dye of Mount Vernon; sisters-in-law, Gerry Pribonic of Hudson and Donna Pribonic of Florida; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Rugola; sisters, Catherine Miletic and Mary Stermock; and brothers, John and Frank Pribonic.

The family will receive friends Sunday, March 16, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon. A Mass of Christian burial will be concelebrated by the Revs. Theodore Thomas and Mark J. Hammond on Monday, March 17, at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Vigil service will be Sunday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Mount Vernon.
