Gary L. Dickerson
HOWARD — Gary L. Dickerson, 61, of Brush Run Road, Howard, died Monday, March 17, 2008, at his residence after battling cancer since 2005.
He was born Sept. 30, 1946, in Gambier to Herman O. and Dorothy (Pargeon) Dickerson. On Oct. 8, 1966, he was married to Norma J. Ferris. He was a member of the Millwood Church of Christ, and a former Butler Township Trustee. He was retired from American National Can and Keen Well & Pump, and loved to spend his time mushroom hunting.
Gary is survived by his wife, Norma; his sons, Robert L. Dickerson and Neal P. (Wendi Tarrh) Dickerson; a grandson, Seth A. Dickerson; a granddaughter, Amber Tarrh; a great-grandson, Ashton Tarrh; brothers, Gilbert (Mary) and Leonard (Dottie) Dickerson; sisters, Mary Ellen Frazee and Betty Steinmetz; brothers-in-law, Eldon Auker and Richard Beckley; sisters-in-law, Beth Dickerson and Linda Frazee; mother-in-law, Hazel Ferris; and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Dorothy “Cookie” Auker and Lenora Beckley; a brother, Ralph Dickerson; father-in-law, Lewis Ferris; and several brothers- and sisters-in-law.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 20, at 11 a.m. at the Millwood Church of Christ. The Evangelist Dave Jones and Gene Lilly will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens. Calling hours will be Wednesday at the church from 5 to 8 p.m.
