Agnes L. Pardee

MOUNT VERNON — Agnes L. Pardee, 99, of Mount Vernon passed away Thursday evening, March 20, 2008, at the Whispering Hills Nursing Home in Mount Vernon.

She was born Jan. 19, 1909, in Rochelle, Ill., a daughter of the late Zara and Ruby I. (Furman) Krom. Agnes was a former pianist for the Ruth Harris Dancing School. She enjoyed swimming, going for walks and doing crossword puzzles. Agnes was also an avid sports fan and could always be found in the stands at her grandchildren’s sporting events when they were growing up.

Agnes is survived by her daughter, Emry A. Quinn of Oakwood, Ohio; her grandchildren, Mike (Kathy) Nisky, Jenny (Tim) Poulos and Maggie (Greg) Spikes; her beloved great-grandson, Garrett Spikes; and her son-in-law, Steve Nisky.

In addition to her parents, Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Pardee.

In following with Agnes’ wish, she will be cremated and the family will have a private service at a later date. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Pardee.
