Wayne E. Crampton
UTICA — A funeral service for Wayne E. Crampton, 80, of Utica will be held Wednesday, March 26, at 11 a.m. at Law-Baker Funeral Home with Bruce Hissong officiating. Burial will follow in South Lawn Cemetery, Utica.
Wayne died March 23, 2008, at Knox Community Hospital. He was born Oct. 5, 1927, in Newark to the late Frank and Flossie (Alwood) Crampton.
He was a member of the Northside Church of Christ, Newark, and a member of the Utica Fire Department. Wayne was involved in Scouting for over 50 years and a Scout Master with Troop 28, Utica, and he received the Silver Beaver Award. He retired from North Fork Schools after 30 years of service.
He is survived by two sons, Steve (Pam) Crampton of Philadelphia, Pa., and Rodney (Candice) Crampton of Newark; one daughter, Belinda (Gary) Myers of St. Louisville; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Harry Crampton, F. Junior Crampton and Harold Crampton; and one sister, Florence Wright.
Friends may call Tuesday, March 25, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica.
