James D. Lemon

LAKE WORTH, Fla. — James D. Lemon, 84, passed away on Good Friday, March 21, 2008, from complications of a long illness. He had lived in the Lake Worth area for 47 years.

He was born in Morrow County, Ohio, to Fleet and Goldie (Kennedy) Lemon on Oct. 13, 1923. He lived his first 28 years around the Mount Vernon area. He had the first independent used car lots in Mount Vernon. He was inducted into the Army in 1942.

Jim is survived by two sons, James E. and Steven K. Lemon of Mount Vernon, Ohio; four granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren. He also has two stepsons, Bill (Glenna) Schafer of Medina, Ohio, and Ken (Shelia) Schafer of West Salem, Ohio; 10 stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Eulalia Phillips of Mount Vernon, Ohio; one brother, Fleet (Eloise) Lemon Jr. of Sardis, Ohio; and a very large number of nieces, nephews and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Foster (Katherine) Lemon of Mansfield and Clifford (Letha) Lemon of Mount Vernon; two sisters, Evelyn (Howard) Boner of Fredericktown and Eleanor Bowsher of Mount Vernon, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Jim will be cremated and ashes scattered at a later date.
