Ronald L. Rowan

COLUMBUS — Ronald L. Rowan, 62, died Friday, March 21, 2008, at OSU SICU.

A Columbus native, he was born Nov. 29, 1945, to the late George J. and Edith (Nagle) Rowan. He attended Whetstone High School. A U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam, he was awarded a Purple Heart. Ron retired to Apple Valley, Howard, in 2005 after 33 years of employment with OSU Physical Facilities.

He is survived by his wife, Janet (Arnold); son, Zachary J.; brother, George E.; mother-in-law, Twyla Arnold; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rebecca and Ed Gardner; aunt and uncle, Corinne and Willis Lamb; several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews; cousins, friends and neighbors; and his beagle, Sadie.

He was preceded in death by sister-in-law, Lynn Rowan.

Family and friends may call Thursday, March 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Weir-Arend Funeral Home, 4221 N. High St., Columbus. A memorial prayer service, officiated by the Rev. Homer Blubaugh, will be held at 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, friends who wish, may contribute to the Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital or the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital at OSU; or the church or charity of choice, in his memory.
