Emerson J. Shuster

DELAWARE — Emerson J. Shuster, 84, of Delaware died Tuesday morning, March 25, 2008, at his home.

He was born on Nov. 11, 1923, in Worthington the son of the late Elmer and Esther L. (Saltzgeber) Shuster. After graduating from Worthington High School in 1942, Emerson enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served during World War II in the South Pacific.

He is survived by wife of 60 years, Virginia M. (Dye); their two sons, Michael (Jill) Shuster of Delaware and Mark (Fran) Shuster of Lewis Center; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lowell and Calvin; and two sisters, Charlene and Martha.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Steven; and his niece, Gloria Johnson.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury. A party to celebrate Emerson’s life will be held Saturday, April 12, from noon to 3 p.m. at his home.
