Bill Looney
LOUDONVILLE — Bill Looney, 76, of Loudonville died Monday, April 7, 2008, at Colonial Manor Health Care Center following a short illness.
Bill was born Sept. 9, 1931, in Vansant, Va., and is the son of the late Lee and Oma Sloane Looney. He moved to the Loudonville area 50 years ago and has lived here ever since. Bill retired from Mansfield Plumbing Products in 1994 after 30 years of service to the company. Bill enjoyed hunting, golfing, camping, spending time with his grandchildren and playing the occasional practical joke. Bill married Alta Stacy on Sept. 9, 1953, and they enjoyed 54 wonderful years together. He loved his wife dearly.
Bill is survived by his wife; four daughters, Lisa Harris of Mansfield, Sharon Looney of Wildwood, Fla., Rhonda and Allen Rooks of Perrysville, and Pat and Mike Palmer of Wooster; eight grandchildren, Jason and Rose VanSickle, Jerry and Susan VanSickle, Allison and Paul Mooibrock, Brian and Kiersten Palmer, David Palmer, Erika Palmer, Lindsey and Doug Staats, and Kevin Harris; six great-grandchildren, Andrea, Shelby, Austin, Peyton, Ashley and Justin VanSickle; and three sisters, Bessie Wojtseck of Danville, Jean Viers of Mount Vernon and Elsie Divers of Lorain.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Tom, Clifton and Ernest Looney; and three sisters, Faye Prince, Edna Stacy and Catherine Quisenberry.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 11, at 10 a.m. at Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville, with the Rev. Lloyd Miller officiating. Burial will take place following the service at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens, Mount Vernon. Friends may call Thursday, April 10, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home.
