June C. Davis
COSHOCTON — June Cooper Davis, 85, formerly of Warsaw, died Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at the Autumn Health Care Center.
She was born March 29, 1923, in Nellie to Lester H. and Stella M. (Singer) Cooper. She married Marvin Taylor Davis, her husband of 56 years, on June 12, 1942, who preceded her in death on April 25, 1999. She was a 1941 graduate of Warsaw High School, a graduate of the Mount Vernon Business School, worked at the U.S. Post Office in Warsaw, Owens-Illinois and DuPont at Danville, and retired as treasurer from the Coshocton County Schools Office after serving from 1975 to 1989. She was a member of the Warsaw Presbyterian Church, serving in choir, Fidelas Class, and as treasurer, a member of The Eastern Star and the Warsaw Garden Club, and performed in the Warsaw Lions Club Minstrel Show.
She is survived by two sons, David (Kim) Davis of Columbus and Dale (Brenda) Davis of Warsaw; three grandchildren, Derek (Jenny) Davis of Jeffersonville, Ind., Kristofer (Holly) Davis of Boerne, Texas, and Kasi (Mark) Hockensmith of Warren; five great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Rosalie (Mike) Babich of North Canton, Joy (Carl) Besst of Marysville, Judy (Jack) Lowe of Warsaw and Jill McMillan of Danville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Stella Cooper; husband, Marvin T. Davis; and a brother-in-law, Ron McMillan.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 13, at 1:30 p.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with the Rev. Ron Davis and Pastor Tim Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery. Calling hours will be Saturday, April 12, from 4 to 6 p.m., and until service time on Sunday.
