Nelson L. Frost

MOUNT VERNON — Nelson L. Frost, 73, of Mount Vernon died Monday, April 7, 2008, at Whispering Hills Care Center in Mount Vernon.

Nelson was born Sept. 18, 1934, in Mount Vernon to Francis and Ethel (Swinehart) Frost and spent his lifetime in Mount Vernon. He owned and operated Knox County Roofing in Mount Vernon until his retirement. He was a hard worker and loving husband, father and grandfather.

Surviving are his daughter, Kim (Rick) Allen of Mount Vernon; his son, Rocky (Vicki) Frost of West Salem; three grandchildren, Jennifer Allen, Melanie Frost and Lucas Frost; two brothers, Philip “Junior” (Loretta) Frost of Mount Vernon, and his loving brother who took care of him for four years, Milan (Juanita) Frost of Mount Vernon; five sisters, Maxine Canterbury, Thelma Grubaugh and Mary Hubbard, all of Mansfield, Sharon Denhart of Danville and Stella (Bob) Matheny of Mount Vernon.

Besides his parents, Nelson was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma M. (Show) Frost, in 1993; his son, John, in 2008; one brother, Joe Frost, in 1986.

Friends may call Monday, April 14, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. Graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. in St. Johns Cemetery near Mount Vernon.
