Ruth B. Heagren

MOUNT VERNON — Ruth B. Heagren, 75, of New Gambier Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Friday, April 11, 2008, at the Medina General Hospital.

She was born Sept. 8, 1932, in Mount Vernon to the late Lloyd and Pearl (Crawford) Hunt. Ruth worked several years for New Hope Industries in Mount Vernon. She was an avid bowler and competed in several leagues at the former Charger Lanes. Most recently Ruth always enjoyed a good game of euchre with family and friends.

She is survived by two sons, David Heagren of Mount Vernon, and Doug and Vickie Heagren of Mount Vernon; a daughter, Sue and Dr. John Surso of Medina; nine grandchildren, D.J., John, Andy, Jaclyn, Angie, Travis, Jason, Jayme and Jeremy; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Oscar (Creta) Hunt of Bellville; and many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Mary Ann Shaffer and Elizabeth Shisler.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Heagren (1996); three brothers, Richard Hunt, Charles Hunt and Junior Hunt; and four sisters, Mae Tablett, Emma Jean Byrd, Cora Dalton and Mary Ellen Hunt.

Friends may call Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jamie Gump officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
