Kenneth L. Wilson
LOUDONVILLE — Kenneth L. Wilson, 66, of rural Loudonville, died Tuesday morning, April 15, 2008, in Specialty Select Hospital, Columbus, following a seven-week illness.
Kenneth was born Oct. 15, 1941, in Mount Vernon, the son of the late Lawrence and Myra (Lower) Wilson. He had lived in the Loudonville area since 1968, growing up in Danville where he was a 1959 graduate of Danville High School. He worked for over 30 years in the maintenance department of The Flxible Co., and most recently at Scott Industries, Wooster. He was the former treasurer of The United Steel Workers Union in Loudonville, and he attended New Hope Community Church, Loudonville. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandson, and was an avid photographer. After his retirement, he was a volunteer bingo caller at the Holmes County Senior Bingo Center. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam era.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Huffman Wilson, whom he married Jan. 12, 1981; a son, Gary (Sheri) Wilson of Anthem, Ariz.; a daughter, Kimberly Sue Zirkler of Utica; a stepson, Ron (Penny) Achamire of Loudonville; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; a half brother, Don (Ginny) Miller of Mansfield; and a half sister, Meredith (Doug) Sorenson of Bella Vista, Ark.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Wilson; his mother and stepfather, Myra and Earl Miller; and a stepson, Larry Achamire.
A Service of Remembrance will be held Saturday, April 19, at 11 a.m. in New Hope Community Church, Loudonville, with Pastors Jim Ford and Jeff Cooper officiating. Private family interment services will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Perrysville. Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. in Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville.
