Mary E. Lammers
NEW CLEVELAND — Mary E. Lammers, 89, of New Cleveland died April 18, 2008, at 9:45 p.m. at Putnam Acres Care Center in Ottawa.
She was born Nov. 2, 1918, in Kalida to the late Albert and Elizabeth (Erhart) Hark. She married Louis J. Lammers on June 13, 1942. He preceded her in death on May 24, 1997. She retired from Putnam Acres Care Center in Ottawa. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in New Cleveland and its Altar Rosary Society and Catholic Ladies of Columbia.
She is survived by four sons, David (Ruth) Lammers of Ottawa, Donald (Sharon) Lammers of Leipsic, Louis (Carol) Lammers Jr. of Manila, Ark., and Douglas (Patricia) Lammers of Leipsic; three daughters, Linda (Dennis) Haselman of Swanton, Virginia Kula of Mount Vernon and Marti (John) Pepple of Auburn, Ind.; 23 grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; 31 great-grandchildren; one stepgreat-grandchild; and a sister, Louise Schmenk of Leipsic.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Schumaker; two brothers, Wilfred Hark and Charles Hark; a great-grandchild; and a stepgrandchild.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, April 22, at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in New Cleveland with the Revs. Mel Verhoff and Robert DeSloover officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held today from 2 to 8 p.m. at Love Funeral Home in Ottawa. A scripture service will be held today at 3:30 p.m., along with a CLC rosary at 7:30 p.m.
