Gerald W. Lonsinger

WARSAW — Gerald W. Lonsinger, 81, of Warsaw passed away peacefully Thursday, April 24, 2008, at his residence.

He was born Feb. 26, 1927, in Tiverton Township to the late F. Raymond and Gertrude (Potes) Lonsinger. Mr. Lonsinger was retired as a dairy farmer. He graduated from Warsaw High School in 1945. He was a U.S. Army veteran, and was trained as a telegraph operator. On Dec. 12, 1948, he married Nancy Jane Lowe, who passed away in 1997. He was an active member of Ohio Farm Bureau and Walhonding Grange. He was instrumental in compiling a Warsaw High School alumni history. He enjoyed fishing and square dancing.

Mr. Lonsinger is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Nancy Lonsinger of Warsaw; two daughters, Diana Swigert (companion Paul Marlatt) of Coshocton and Susan Lonsinger of Utica; three grandsons, Hans Lonsinger, Andrew Fabrizio and Steven Fabrizio; one granddaughter, Kate Lonsinger; one brother and sister-in-law, James and Jeanette Lonsinger of Warsaw; and one sister, Betty Whelan of Dresden.

He was preceded in death by his wife; two brothers, Clyde Lonsinger and Bernard Lonsinger; and one sister, Maude Ware.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 29, at 10 a.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with the Rev. Wayne Harman officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
