James Milton Pyle
NAPLES, Fla. — James Milton Pyle, 85, of Naples, Fla., formerly of Sunbury, died early Thursday morning, April 24, 2008, at Naples Community Hospital.
He was born Feb. 15, 1923, in Mount Morris, Pa., to the late Glenn D. and Mabel R. (Taylor) Pyles. A graduate of Mount Morris High School in 1941, he completed welding training and volunteered to serve in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1943.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lovell E. (Layton); daughters, Ruth (James) Brown of Naples, Fla., Barbara (Garry) Waller of Ashville, Ohio, and Joella (Raymond) Beard of Anchorage, Alaska; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Lois A. Vance of Bucyrus.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Pamela Kay, in 1979; and son, James II, in 2005.
Friends may call Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., with Masonic services at 8 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 3 at Ohio 61, Sunbury. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Sunbury United Methodist Church. Interment with military honors will follow in Sunbury Memorial Park.
