Edna Grace Crowner

BUTLER — Edna Grace Crowner, 87, of Hill Road, Butler, died April 27, 2008, in Crestwood Care Center, Shelby.

She was born Feb. 11, 1921, in Ashland County to William H. and Melissa M. (Marshall) Doup. On June 30, 1945, she married Gerald L. Crowner, and shortly thereafter moved to their Hill Road farm. Edna helped Gerald operate the farm, and worked 18 years in the Gorman-Rupp plant at Bellville.

She is survived by son, Charles (Karla) Crowner of Butler; daughters, Ann (David) Shirk and Eileen (Virgil) Smith; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sister, Dorothy DeLong.

In addition to her husband who died Sept. 8, 1990, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Crowner; a granddaughter; a great-granddaughter; sisters, Betty Brennstuhl and Aleta Kirkpatrick; and a brother, George Doup.

Friends will be received today, April 29, from 2 to 4 and 6 and 8 p.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, where the funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. Pastors Jack Dearth and Ken Kinley will officiate. Burial will follow in Sand Ridge Cemetery.
