Benny Bennett

DANVILLE — Eugene P. “Benny” Bennett, 75, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at the Rose Garden Nursing Home in Mount Vernon.

He was born March 19, 1933, in Williams River, W.Va., to William Arnnette and Fleuridellis (Parker) Bennett. He was married to Anna Mae (Miller), he was a U.S. Army veteran, and was a member of the Danville Church of Christ.

He is survived by sons, William “Bill” (Deanna) Bennett of Mount Vernon, Robert “Bob” Bennett of Danville and Bret (Dianne) Bennett of Danville; four grandchildren, Taylor, Ryley, Aaron and Alex; brothers, Bob (Irene) Bennett of Warsaw, Elbin (Karen) Bennett of Howard and Steve (Ann) Bennett of Fredericktown; sisters, Mary Ball and Sylvia Looney of Howard; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; brothers, Joseph and Arthur Ross Bennett; and a sister, Jane Bennett.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 1, at 1 p.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Gene Lilly will officiate. Burial, with military rites from the Knox County Joint Veterans Council, will be in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens. Calling hours will be two hours prior to service time Thursday.
