Hazel M. Farmer

WALNUT CREEK — Hazel Marie Farmer, 106, died Saturday, May 3, 2008, at the Walnut Hills Nursing Home where she was a resident.

She was born Sept. 25, 1901, in Dennison to the late Walter and Jennie (McKee) Farmer. She was a former school teacher, having graduated from Kent State University, and taught in Millersburg, Fredricksburg.

She is survived by nieces and nephews, June (William) Kapela of Texas, Daniel (Kathy) Farmer of Washington, Walter Farmer of California, William (Shane) Kapela Jr. of Texas, Christine Farmer of California and Soprana Kapela of Texas; also cousins, Glenn (Gertie) Mikesell, Eileen Burton, Naomi (Jim) Ashcraft and Jean Dorcott Esselstein.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and their spouses, Cletus and Varelia Farmer, Bernard and Hazel Farmer, and Harris and Martha Farmer.

A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date in Workman Cemetery in Danville. The Fischer Funeral Home in Danville is handling arrangements. Information is available at www.fischerfuneralhome.com.
