Cecil J. DeHaven
MOUNT VERNON — Cecil J. DeHaven, 82, of Pleasant Valley Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Monday, May 12, 2008, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon.
He was born Feb. 23, 1926, in Wadsworth to the late Walter and Florence (Webb) DeHaven. Cecil retired from Columbia Gas of Mount Vernon having over 35 years of employment. Cecil served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
He is survived by three sons, Michael (Barbara) DeHaven of Mount Vernon, James (Marian) DeHaven of Gambier and Ed (Sharon) DeHaven of Howard; five grandchildren, Denny DeHaven, Betsy Langston, Darcy DeHaven, Amy (Chris) Cyrus and Staci DeHaven; eight great-grandchildren, Devyn, Dylan, Morgan, Preston, Bayli, Tony, Autumn and Lily.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Onalee DeHaven; a son, Richard DeHaven; and a great-grandson, Michael DeHaven.
A funeral service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, where friends may call two hours prior. The Rev. Jamie Gump will officiate. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens, Mount Vernon.
