Harold C. Dennis
DANVILLE — Harold C. Dennis, 89, died Monday, May 19, 2008, at the Knox Community Hospital.
He was born Feb. 22, 1919, in Knox County to Walter and Ruth L. (Eley) Dennis. On Sept. 28, 1940, he was married to Edna Mae Reiheld. He was a World War II veteran with the U.S. Army, and was a member of the American Legion Post 650. He was an auto body repairman with Burgess Motor Sales in Loudonville before retiring.
He is survived by a daughter, Debbie Dennis of Mount Vernon; a son, Gary L. Dennis of Howard; two brothers, William Dennis of Howard and Robert Dennis of Rochelle, Ill.; and three sisters, Marjorie Nyhart of Newark, Mabel Mizer of Mount Vernon and Dollie Stumbaugh of Apple Creek.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Edna Mae Dennis, who died July 17, 1982.
A funeral service will be held Friday, May 23, at 11 a.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Pastor Lloyd Miller will officiate. Burial, with military rites from the Knox County Joint Veterans Council, will be in Workman Cemetery in Danville. Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
