Betty Ruth Snavely
FREDERICKTOWN — Betty Ruth Snavely, 89, of Salem Road, Fredericktown, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2008, at Whispering Hills Care Center in Mount Vernon.
She was born on Sept. 22, 1918, in Mansfield to the late Samuel and Sylvia (Greer) Russell. Betty Ruth was a 1938 graduate of Bellville High School. She was a member of the Palmyra Church of Christ, where she had served as a Sunday school teacher. Betty Ruth was active as a 4-H advisor for many years.
She is survived by her son, Edward (Beth) Snavely of Fredericktown; two daughters, Sally (Thomas) Simpkins of Hiwassee, Va., and Sue (George) Levengood of Fredericktown; and three grandchildren, Brandon (Brittney) Snavely, Joshua Simpkins and Jonathan Simpkins.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Snavely; and seven brothers and sisters, Maxime Stull, Stanley Russell, Helen Benninghoff, Frank Russell, Grace Williams, Robert Russell and Lucille Worner.
Friends may call on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown, where a service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. Pastor Dan Noe will be officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park in Lexington.
