Gary L. Williams
MOUNT VERNON — Gary L. Williams, 62, of Mount Vernon died Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus after suffering a heart attack at his home.
Gary was born Feb. 2, 1946, in Gallipolis and served with the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1966 in Berlin, Germany. Gary was owner and operator of Pro Top, which specialized in exterior automotive trim. He was a member of the Sunbury Masonic Lodge and the Centerburg Conservation Club.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia “Patty” (Greaver) Williams, whom he married Aug. 5, 1967; his son, Scott Sullivan of Mount Vernon; a grandson, Daniel Sullivan of Mount Vernon; and two sisters, Sharon (Alan) Jarvis and Lorie Ann Patten, both of Wellston.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Lucy (Williams) Patten.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon with military honors by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council. Private graveside services will be held at Brandon Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m.
