M. Elzada Frye
MOUNT VERNON — M. Elzada Frye, 90, of Mount Vernon died Sunday, May 25, 2008, at the LPN Health Care Facility in Newark.
Elzada was born May 12, 1918, in Knox County to Walter Eastman Parsons Sr. and Ruby Pearl (Bross) Parsons and had spent most of her lifetime in the Mount Vernon area. She was retired from the F.W. Woolworth Co. in Mount Vernon, where she had been employed as a sales clerk for many years. She was a member of the Brandon Baptist Church and Pleasant Grange.
Surviving are her four daughters, Phyllis L. McCandless of Newark, Janice K. Keller of Reynoldsburg, Marcia D. (Stephen) Speck of Pataskala and Rebecca L. (James) Neri of Newark; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Elzada was preceded in death by her husband, Chancey Frye; a daughter, Sharon Frye; a grandson, Scott Keller; a son-in-law, Mike Keller; a brother, Walter E. Parsons Jr.; and a sister, Evelyn Huffman.
Friends may call Wednesday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Brandon Baptist Church with the Rev. Marvin Haught officiating. Burial will follow at Saint John’s Cemetery near Mount Vernon.
