David P. Butler
MOUNT VERNON — David P. Butler, 69, of Mount Vernon, died Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at his residence following an extended battle with cancer.
David was born March 19, 1939, in Mount Vernon to Daniel Joseph Butler and Bernice Ima (Bricker) Butler and had spent his lifetime in the Mount Vernon area. He was a 1957 graduate of Mount Vernon High School and was licensed as a master barber by the state of Ohio. He retired from the Plaza Barber Shop in Mount Vernon, in 2006, where he had been an owner and barber for over 40 years.
David was a member of the Colonial City Moose Lodge in Mount Vernon the Mount Vernon Eagles Lodge and a social member of the AMVETS in Mount Vernon.
Surviving are his wife, Cheryl Jean (Llewellyn) Butler, whom he married in 1976; a son, Kevin (Stephanie) Frazee of Danville; and two grandchildren, Trey Frazee and Schae Frazee.
Besides his parents, David was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Pursel.
Private graveside services will be held at Friendship Cemetery near Mount Vernon at a later date.
