Archie P. Garrett
BUTLER — Archie P. Garrett, 86, of Butler, died Tuesday, May 27, 2008, in the Hospice House of Hospice of North Central Ohio, following a long illness.
Archie was born Sept. 22, 1921, in Shiloh to Wiley and Edna (Morrison) Garrett and was graduated from Shiloh High School in 1939, following which he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served during World War II.
Archie is survived by his wife of 46 years, Gertrude (Morris) Garrett; stepdaughters, Deborah (Ronald) Mosier and Rhonda Swank; stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; brothers, Herman Garrett and Burton Garrett; and his sister, Donna Cassell.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepgrandson, Michael Mosier; three his sisters; and two brothers.
Friends may call Friday, May 30, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, where the funeral will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. The Revs. Ken Kinley and Keith McLaughlin will officiate. Burial with military honors performed by the Irvin Hiskey Post 535 will follow in Zion Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to Hospice of North Central Ohio or Three Crosses Methodist Church may be made at the funeral home.
