John B. Ryan
POWELL, Tenn. — John B. Ryan, 64, of Powell, Tenn., passed away suddenly Saturday morning, May 24, 2008, at U.T. Medical Center.
John was born in Mount Vernon. He went to Butler Elementary School, Fredericktown Schools, and graduated in 1962 from Danville High School. John was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oak Ridge, Tenn. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Master Sergeant after 20 years of service. John was a teacher for ITT Technical Institute for 25 years in Knoxville, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgil and Ruth Ryan; sisters, Maxine Gilpen and Mary Lou Ryan; and brothers, Paul and Ernie Ryan.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Janie Ryan; son, Reuben Ryan of Fort Benning, Ga.; sisters, Martha Blanchard, Barb Blanchard and Susie Mendez; brothers, Bob and Bill Ryan; and many nieces and nephews.
