Nancy L. Sinclair
MOUNT VERNON — Nancy L. Sinclair, 61, of Mount Vernon passed away Friday, May 30, 2008, at the Cleveland Clinic.
She was born March 25, 1947, in St. Louis, Mo., to the late Theodore and Marianne (Hermanns) Becker. She grew up in Mount Vernon, where she was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and a 1965 graduate of Mount Vernon High School. She later attended The Ohio State University.
Working in education was Nancy’s passion and life’s work for over 30 years, serving as treasurer for Mount Vernon City Schools and as assistant treasurer for Worthington Schools. She had many accomplishments in her profession, most recently was her integral role in the construction of Twin Oak Elementary and Mount Vernon Middle Schools. Her number one priority as treasurer was taking care of students and employees — as she always stated that she had not just one child, but 4,300 children.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 38 years, John; daughter, Lisa of Alexandria, Va.; brothers, Theodore Becker Jr. of Lewes, Del., and David (Mimi) Becker of La Habra, Calif.; nephew, James Becker of Austin, Texas; niece, Sandra Becker of La Habra, Calif.; and will be remembered by numerous friends and co-workers within the school district and educational field.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 7, at 11 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 170 Mansfield Ave., Mount Vernon.
