Arthur G. Davis
MOUNT VERNON — Arthur G. Davis, 68, of New Gambier Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Monday, June 2, 2008, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
He was born May 30, 1940, in Knox County to Earl and Ruth (Slusser) Davis. Arthur was a graduate of the Indiana Institute of Technology and worked as a design engineer for the Ariel Corp. of Mount Vernon for the last 22 years. He was a Monroe Township Trustee for over 20 years, a board member of the Kokosing Gap Trail and had a special interest for antique cars.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Beverly (Staats) Davis; a son, Todd (Lindsay) Davis of Fredericktown; a daughter, Cinda (Daniel) Stutzman of Bowling Green; four grandchildren, Ethan Davis, Lily Davis, Alex Stutzman and Olivia Stutzman; and his father.
His mother preceded him in death.
Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon, OH 43050. The family will observe a private graveside service in Union Grove Cemetery in Gambier. The Rev. William Harding will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Gambier Fire and Rescue Department or to the Kokosing Gap Trail and can be left at the funeral home.
