Adrian R. Keeton
MOUNT VERNON — Rev. Adrian R. Keeton, 75, of Columbus Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Friday, June 6, 2008, at The Laurels of Mount Vernon.
He was born Feb. 3, 1933, in Owensboro, Ky., to the late Monrow and Lucille (Nevit) Keeton. Mr. Keeton previously worked for the DT&I Railroad before receiving his bachelor’s degree in religion from Eastern Nazarene and his master’s degree in psychology and counseling from Frostburg State University. As an ordained minister, Adrian served the Nazarene Church in Taylor, Mich., Wyandot, Mich., Marine City, Mich., Reading, Mass., and Frostburg, Md. He enjoyed the simple things in life such as reading a good book or listening to music. Adrian was a member of the Lakeholm Church of the Nazarene.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Adah (Dye) Keeton; two sons, Mark Keeton of Petersburg, Mich., and Kevin (Phyllis) Keeton of Marion; a daughter, Twyla (David) Campbell of Mount Vernon; eight grandchildren, Kelly and Emma Campbell, Chad Keeton, Kaylee Keeton, Chris Keeton, Wayne Keeton, Mike Griffith and Lloyd Gullett; two brothers, Patrick (Diane) Keeton of Florida and C.W. Keeton of Washington.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Shelby Keeton; and three sisters, Glenda Keeton, Mona Lou Anders and Charlotte Hull.
Friends may call today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Lakeholm Church of the Nazarene, 16001 Glenn Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050. The Rev. Larry Hall will be officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
