Ronald M. Leaman

ORIENT— Ronald Marshall Leaman, 76, of Clark Lakes, Orient, Ohio, formerly of Gambier, died Thursday, June 5, 2008, at Franklin Woods Nursing Center.

Born March 4, 1932, in Lafayette, Ind., he was the son of the late Marshall and Anna (Bonnet) Leaman. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Leaman.

Survived by his wife, Patricia Sarosi; daughter, Melinda (Steve) Speelman; son, Douglas (Rhonda) Leaman; stepsons, James and John (Holly) Sarosi; grandchildren, Tim (Alma), Marshall, Taylor and Jessie Leaman, Gina Hill, Allison Shahan, Christina Hetrick, Anthony and Andrew Sarosi; great-grandchildren, Bladeth and Alandria Leaman, Sierra and Brayden Hill; special brother-in-law, Dave Hetrick.

He graduated from Purdue in 1959 with a degree in Industrial Engineering, and served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany during the Korean conflict. He was a former member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers; and an avid SCCA member. Previously employed by Rockwell International and retired from GE Superabrasives in Worthington in 1992.

Memorial service will be Wednesday, June 11, at 7 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Contributions in Ron’s honor may be sent to Utica High School Athletic Boosters Wrestling Team Fund, 260 Jefferson St., P.O. Box 677, Utica, OH 43080; or to the Central Ohio Diabetes Association, 1100 Dennison Ave., Columbus, OH 43201.

Those who knew Ron are encouraged to honor his memory with a gracious gesture, an act of kindness or a heartfelt message of forgiveness to another human being. Messages of condolence may be left.
