Richard L. Eberhart

MOUNT VERNON — Richard L. ”Dick” Eberhart, 78, of Mount Vernon died Thursday, June 12, 2008, at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.

He was born Feb. 7, 1930, in Mount Vernon to Edwin M. Eberhart and Besse M. (Humrichouser) Eberhart and had spent his lifetime in the Mount Vernon area. Dick served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He owned and operated Eberhart’s Garage in Mount Vernon for several years.

Surviving are his daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Barry Dailey of Howard, and Linda and Randy Broceus of Mount Vernon; his grandchildren, Matthew Dailey, Aaron Scott and Ashley Scott; his great-grandchildren, Annalise Dailey and Layne Dailey; his brother, Donald Eberhart of Mount Vernon; and his sister, Dorothea (Leland) Blacksten of Utica.

Besides his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta A. (Glibert) Eberhart, in 2002.

Private graveside funeral services will be held at Mound View Cemetery in Mount Vernon at a later date.
